Multimedia is a big part of TV broadcast. We use video, audio, and computer graphics all the time---but not necessarily all of them at the same time. We edit video, audio, and make graphics at KAUZ, the station i work at, for every single show we produce.
So, multimedia plays a big part, or a major part, in broadcast journalism for TV...without each component, it would be boring to viewers and televised newscasts probably wouldn't be watched and would have died a long time ago.
Video is the main part in keeping the audience's attention in a newscast. If it were just anchors talking about what happened, it would lose the audience's attention.

ReplyDeleteVideo, audio, and edit them together mostly. Theres CG--character generator--which is our text and graphics at the bottom of the screen during a newscast. Leitchs are also sort of like flash--graphics that seperate stories that somtimes have a fade-in or out or some other sort of transition.
